Overview:
Mesun Health Services, known for providing comprehensive and compassionate care to our community, is seeking a dedicated Dietary Cook to join our team. As part of our commitment to personalized care that meets cultural needs, we are looking for an individual who can ensure the nutritional well-being of our patients. The position offers an opportunity to contribute to the health and well-being of those we serve.
Duties:
- Assist the Director of Food Services with complying with regulations, policies and procedures. Supervise and assist meal preparation and serving.
- Reviews menus prior to food preparation and prepares the meals.
- Works with the Dietitian/Director of Food Services as necessary and implements recommended changes as required. Performs other duties, as assigned.
- Ensures that food procedures are followed in accordance with established policies.
- Performs administrative requirements such as completing necessary forms, reports, etc. and submits to the Dietitian/Director of Food Services.
- Prepare food in accordance with specific nutritional guidelines for patients
- Adhere to portion control standards while cooking and serving meals
- Serve food in designated dining areas following established protocols
- Deliver food trays or snacks directly to patient rooms
- Assist with cleaning tasks to maintain a sanitary kitchen environment
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or GED certificate
- One (1) year dietary/food service experience in a supervisory capacity in a hospital, nursing care facility or other related medical facility preferred
- Previous experience in food preparation and understanding of nutrition principles
- Strong attention to detail to ensure meals meet dietary requirements
- Ability to work the hours of 11 am to 7:30 pm with Rotating Weekends
